Lyrics: MusixMatch
Me detengo y me despierto | I stop myself and I awake |
y te encuentro en lo bello de lo pequeño, | and I find you in the beauty of the small things |
en lo que pueda parecer repetido | in what may seem repeated |
Y me despierto a mí misma | And I wake up to myself |
que respiro que vivo y me fascino | That I breathe, that I live and I'm fascinated |
porque todo me habla de ti | Because everything tells me of you |
Hoy despierto a tu presencia ven Señor te abro la puerta de esta mi pobre casa. | Today, I wake up to your presence; come Lord, I open the door of this my poor house to you. |
Hoy despierto a tu presencia, ven Señor te abro la puerta | Today, I wake up to your presence. Come Lord, I open the door to you. |
Gracias por querer ser mi amigo, quédate. | Thank for wanting to be my friend. Stay! |
Hoy despierto a tu presencia, ven Señor te abro la puerta | Today, I wake up to your presence. Come Lord, I open the door to you. |
Gracias por querer ser mi amigo, estas aquí. | Thank you for wanting to be my friend. You are here |
Hace falta que despierte | It's necessary that I wake up |
que los ojos de mi espíritu con tu luz | that the eyes of my spirit, with your light, |
me descubran que estas dentro de mí. | may show me that you are in me |
Hoy despierto a tu presencia ven Señor te abro la puerta, sé que vives, eres tan real. | Today I wake up to your presence. Come Lord, I open the door to you. I know that you live. You are so real |
Gracias por querer ser mi amigo. Estas aquí. | Thank you for wanting to be my friend. You are here. |
Cada día, cada instante, | Every day, every moment, |
como un mendigo llamas a mi puerta | like a beggar you call to my door |
me suplicas que reconozca las señales de tu amor | you ask me to recognize the signals of your love |
Hoy despierto a tu presencia. | I wake up to your presence. |
Gracias por querer ser mi amigo. Estas aquí. | Thank you for wanting to be my friend. You are here |

The 11 sisters of Siervas are a rock band like 'nun' other [11? 12?]
Eleven nuns take the stage wearing traditional black-and white habits but are anything but old school as they belt out songs to the ringing of electric guitar and a rock 'n' roll beat. Known as "Siervas," the band was born in a Peruvian convent three years ago and now travels far and wide to perform. Of all the extraordinary things about Siervas the most remarkable may be they are not just a novelty. They have a genuine international following.
The nuns, who come from eight countries and range in age from 20s to 40s, insist they aren't rock stars. But they certainly act the part when on stage performing to the electric guitar, steady drumbeat and catchy lyrics, uniformly smiling as silver crosses dangle from their necks.
